Poland Trip

Taking a spiritual pilgrimage is an important part of a Catholic’s development and staff and students at Saint Paul’s are looking forward to taking part in another Pilgrimage with their Parish. There are 24 Year 10 students from our school community who will be taking this opportunity to enhance their spiritual growth.

The group will be following in the footsteps of Pope Saint John Paul ll, as he lived and worked in the Salt Mines of Poland. They will be visiting many religious sites in and around Krakow and partaking in masses as a Parish. They will also be visiting Auschwitz whilst in Poland.

Father Owen Gallagher who accompanied the previous pilgrimage, said: “I cannot laud your students enough. They were an amazing part of the pilgrimage and helped the other pilgrims to find grace and solace. They were of the highest impeccable manners and a truest reflection of the standards and mission of Saint Paul’s Catholic High School.

“A pilgrimage is an incredible tool for spiritual cultural exploration and taking a Catholic pilgrimage in Europe is a powerful spiritual experience,” explained Mr Fannon, Deputy Headteacher. “These pilgrimages not only connect us to sacred sites but also inspire a deeper connection to our faith and heritage; a unique opportunity to grow our faith and deepen our spiritual life.”

The Catholic pilgrimage holds profound significance as a spiritual journey that deepens faith, fosters reflection, and strengthens community bonds. At our school, we cherish the tradition of pilgrimage as a transformative experience for students and staff alike.

The journey allows participants to engage in prayer, reflection, and communal worship, enriching their understanding of Catholic devotion.
