Students from Saint Paul’s visited the University of Manchester to learn more about what university life has to offer.
The university visit gave the Year 11 students the opportunity to explore for themselves what university life is really like. They were able to tour the university, attend a lecture and talk to students who are currently studying at the university.
The aim of the visit was to raise the aspirations and motivation of the students by showing them the benefits of progressing to university whilst at the same time inspiring and motivating them to think about their future career ambitions.
“Visits such as these give a taste of university life and allow our students to explore some of the possibilities open to them,” explained Mr McMahon, Head of Science. “The feedback was extremely positive and we are delighted that several of our students are now considering studying at university as a result of the trip and they all really enjoyed the visit.”
“Our students really appreciated the opportunity to visit the university,” commented Mr Whiteside, Head Teacher. “The students were able to spend time attending presentations and talking to the university students to get a real-life view of what time at university is like.”
