There were some fantastic performances at Sports Day. It was an inclusive event so that everyone could get involved with some or all of the events.
Mr Mawn said: “The school Sports Day was a great success. There was a variety of field and track events for students to choose to enter. The atmosphere was friendly yet competitive.
The students showed a great deal of enthusiasm and we saw some outstanding individual performances. Well done to all those involved.”
The Year 10 Sports Leaders did an amazing job helping organise the event. They also provided advice on technique to younger pupils, helped with time keeping and measuring as well as showing their data analyst skills as they recorded and managed the results.
The pupils are working towards the English Schools Athletics Association award scheme where the can earn badges from 1 star up to podium level. As a result this made the whole day inclusive as they could work to their own sporting ability.
Sports Day ended on a high with the whole school outside watching sprint events from our most elite sports performers as well as the yearly staff race won by Mr Birkett!
